• The Arena features approximately 100 sporting events and some 160 total events annually, bringing roughly 800,000 Southern California sports and entertainment enthusiasts to the Arena, and an additional 1.2 million people to the Arena site for external/parking lot events (i.e. Kobey's Swap Meet).
• Successful installation of a center-hung, four-sided LED scoreboard featuring state-of-the-art video and tri-vision panels for sponsor branding, ad placements and promotions.
• Completion of a major backstage construction project whereby the Arena now boasts six artist "suites", a mural of San Diego's major landmarks and attractions, and a state-of-the-art pressroom.
• A redevelopment of the property with the existing Arena space, including Chick Fil A , Chili's Restaurant, and an ARCO AM/PM convenience store/gas station, all open now!
• The addition of ARAMARK (formerly Fine Host Corporation) as the Arena's on-site concession management company.
• The declaration of the Midway District as the 18th BID (Business Improvement District) in San Diego to make substantial funds available for street beautification, economic development programs, sign enhancements, the Sports Arena Boulevard street banner program and much more.
• Successful completion and scheduled completion of capital improvements to the facility and the Outer Concourse to enhance the public's entertainment and concessions experience at the Arena, including:
• New facades applied to two existing Pizza Stands in Outer Concourse (redesigned and themed)
• Conversion and internal/external redesign of one Pizza Stand into a Bakery/Sweet Shop
• Purchase of new refrigerator (units + skins) portables for Outer Concourse
• Refurbishment of existing portables (beverage portables, nacho carts, flat bars)
• Build-out/completion of a new Sam Adams Pub, Guinness Pub, and a Dos Equis Wave bar in the Outer Concourse
• Build-out/completion of new Guest Services booth in Outer Concourse
• Concession Stands re-branded, menu boards replaced and relocated and menus revamped
• Fully ADA-compliant seating distributed around the Arena for convenient access and viewing.
